Background & Purpose

During the general proposal period in late 2025, members of parliament submitted numerous suggestions regarding safety and health in Swedish workplaces.

Proposals & Debate

The proposals covered various issues such as employer responsibilities, safety representatives, measures against work-related crime, and the powers of the Swedish Work Environment Authority. The opposition wanted stricter rules and increased oversight.

The Decision

The Swedish parliament rejected all 108 proposals, pointing out that ongoing work and existing agreements between labor market organizations are already addressing these issues.
