The ongoing war in Ukraine creates an urgent need for immediate defense support. To address these emergency requirements, Sweden needs to update its national budget outside the regular financial timeline.

The proposal includes donating vital defense equipment like weapons, ammunition, medical transport vehicles, and food supplies to Ukraine. It also authorizes the government to purchase replacement materials for the Swedish Armed Forces and fund training programs to strengthen Ukraine's overall defense capacity.

The Decision

Sweden will spend an additional SEK 11.7 billion in 2025 to immediately deliver military supplies, training, and equipment to Ukraine.
