During the autumn 2025 proposal period, members of parliament submitted about 140 proposals concerning family law matters such as divorce waiting periods, child custody, and name changes. The proposals were met with differing views in parliament, leading to a vote.

The Decision

The Swedish parliament decided to reject all of the submitted proposals, pointing to ongoing work and previous positions taken by the committee.
