During the autumn 2024 general submission period, members of parliament submitted numerous proposals regarding traffic safety, speed limits, sober driving, and vehicle regulations.

The Decision

Following a vote in the Swedish parliament, all opposition proposals regarding road safety were denied because existing government work and planned measures already cover these areas.

Does this affect you?

  • Drivers and commuters: No changes to speed limits, traffic surveillance, or driving license rules will be implemented from these proposals.
  • Young drivers of A-traktors: Existing rules and safety requirements for A-traktors and moped cars remain completely unchanged.
