Every year, politicians suggest ways to improve how the Parliament works. This can include making it more transparent or changing the rules for how new laws are proposed to ensure the system remains modern and fair.
Proposals & Debate
Opposition members submitted around 50 different ideas for change. These included making it easier for the public to see politicians' business interests and changing the way the yearly opening ceremony is conducted. Some also wanted to review the salaries and benefits of elected officials.
The Decision
The Parliament decided to stick with the current rules and said no to all the new suggestions. They explained that many of these topics are already being looked into by other official investigations, so no new decisions are needed right now.
